This is a great movie for children that parents will also love. A rarity, especially these days. It has great messages without getting sappy or preachy, the humor is crisp, clean, and funny. The action is well paced without being overblown, too violent, or corny. All in all, a great movie.

I love that you decided to video in appropriate attire for a 1940's film. Your reaction showed why it's a classic. There are 7 lines in Casabalnca from the AFI's top 100 of all time most memorable movie lines . The next highest are from Gone with the Wind and The Wizard of Oz with 4 each. Claude Rains (Police Captain Renault) is my personal favorite and Humphry Bogart (Rick) is well Humphry Bogart and cool as hell

Another great Matthew Broderick film is WarGames (1983). Some other great movies filmed in Chicago are The Blues Brothers (1980) and The Untouchables (1987). The Fugitive (1993) and The Sting (1973) were partially filmed in Chicago.

1. Alan Ruck was 29 when filming. 2. Charlie Sheen didn't sleep for 48 hours prior to his scene to get into character, 3. Ah, the days when MTV played videos. 4. IRL Broadrick and Grey had a thing going during the shoot. 5. Not pealing out in front of Rooney would have stopped him from going after Ferris. 6. They have a doggie door, odds are they have a dog. DA 7. This was John Hughes' ode to his hometown of Chicago. John Hughes.😇 8. I'm not in line to be his "best friend" because I wouldn't let him walk all over and/or Bull$hit me. 9. GOOF: It's awfully late in the day to have a full bus load of kids. 10. That same school was also used for "Uncle Buck" and "The Breakfast Club".

Remember seeing this on a beautiful summer day in the 80's. Wish I could go back. Another Matt Broderick movie you should see is "Wargames" it's another 80's classic.

That Ferrari is so rare the one in the film is a replica . Today one in that condition would likely sell for around 20 million , at an auction .

Alan Ruck (Cameron) and Matthew Broderick (Ferris) had previously worked together on the stage and so Broderick recommended Ruck for the role of his best friend. Because of their prior comradery, they could already play off each other beautifully. A casting director's dream.

The high school scenes were shot at Glenbrook North in Chicago. That's where Director/writer John Hughes went to HS. All his movies are set in the near North suburbs of Chicago.

What's awesome is that I unfortunately missed you in Chicago for the C2E2 con but you're now watching Ferris Beuller, a Chicago setting plot! I'll take it!

Doesn't do anything crazy or unusual cinematically? What about Ferris talking directly to the audience right through the entire movie?? That was highly unusual for the time (mid 80s).

Cut out too many great lines hon. A reaction to a jam packed classic like this should be at least 40 minutes long.

Nearly every John Hughes film is set in or around his hometown of Chicago. *Please* watch Matthew Broderick again in _Project X_ and _War Games._ Maybe _Election._

You got to checkout Matthew Broderick’s two best films: WarGames (1983) and Glory (1989). By the way, Matthew Broderick (Ferris) was also the voice of adult Simba in The Lion King.

As a true martial artist myself, this movie was actually the best one out of the three. If you're wondering, this move was based more on a message with a story. So, if you were looking for lots of fights, then you missed the whole point of this movie. The point of this movie was the message.That's why this movie from the very beginning starts off what the message of what karate is really about. Karate is for defense only. Hate is wrong! When you're balanced & more focused, things are a lot more clear etc...ect...

The book, while somewhat different from the film, is great in its own way and highly recommended.
